Professional Bio
Bastien is an Arizona transplant originally from Providence, Rhode Island. He completed his undergraduate studies at Arizona State University in 2015, attaining a B.A in Political Science and a second B.A. in Global Studies. Bastien was a Tempe Diablos and Shirley G. Schmitz Scholar, as well as a Student Ambassador for the McCain Institute's Policy Design Studio. In 2018, Bastien received his M.A. in International Affairs from American University in Washington, D.C. Professionally, Bastien brings with him experience from both the private and public sectors to Capitol Consulting. His career has spanned from the City of Tempe and the U.S. House of Representatives, to the National League of Cities and the International Foundation for Electoral Systems. He previously worked for the Rhode Island Democratic Party during the 2018 midterm election, and for Project on Middle East Democracy as a policy analyst for the advocacy department. He enjoys traveling internationally, riding his motorcycle, and camping in the desert.
