  • Uphold the reputation of the industry as a professional, ethical, and community-minded field.

These aspirational industry standards are offered as a source of inspiration and guidance for members who wish to set the highest example for their peers and partners. They are not intended as enforceable rules, but as a reflection of the values the Association seeks to encourage in building a vibrant and respected industry for all.

Section 5. Social Media and Public Representation

Members are encouraged to use discretion and professionalism when referencing the Association or sharing information about its activities in public communications and on social media. Members should not purport to speak on behalf of the Association without authorization from the Board or designated spokesperson. Through positive, respectful engagement, members help build trust and uphold the reputation of the Association and the rental housing community.

Section 6. Enforcement and Member Rights

The Association is committed to upholding this Code in a way that is fair, consistent, and respectful of all members.

When concerns about conduct arise in the context of Association activities, the Board will consider them through a confidential process that respects the interests of all involved and is tailored to the specific circumstances. When appropriate or required by law, this process will include notice to the member or members involved, an opportunity to be heard, and a right to appeal any disciplinary decision.

Depending on the nature and seriousness of the concern, corrective actions may include supportive guidance, a warning, exclusion from Association events, or suspension of membership. Any action taken is carefully limited to conduct that directly affects the Association and its community.

In every case, the Association strives to protect the dignity and privacy of all members and will not make public announcements regarding discipline except when required by law or policy.

Enforcement procedures are further detailed in the Association's policies and procedures.

Section 7. Scope and Amendments

This Code of Conduct governs conduct within Association activities and communications and is not intended to regulate members’ private business practices outside the Association. The Board may revise or update this Code to reflect the evolving needs of the Association community and will notify members of any changes.
