Professional Bio
Jenica comes to AMA as a transplant from the Midwest (born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa, 15+ years in Minneapolis, MN), and is more than happy to have traded in snowflakes for sunshine. She brings over fourteen years of association management experience to the AMA team, eight of which was spent serving various positions with the Minnesota Multihousing Association. Jenica has the added benefit of having worked directly in property management, giving her a firm understanding of AMA member needs. She’s spent time as an executive assistant for a regional company with an over 5,500 unit portfolio, served as on-site manager for 200+ unit luxury property, and has even owned and managed her own single-family rental property.
In addition to a B.S. from Iowa State University, Jenica has proudly graduated from the American Society of Association Executive's (ASAE) Ready Me leadership program and the Arizona Foundation for Women's She Leads program. She also holds a certificate in Grant Development - State and Foundation Proposals from Arizona State University.
She received a MADACS Award (Minnesota Multihousing Association's version of a Tribute Award) for Support Staff in 2018. She is proud to have been a part of the Arizona Multihousing Team that won the “National Apartment Association Excellence Affiliate Award", the "Arizona Society of Association Executives Award of Excellence in Education" for AMA's "A Place Where You Belong" initiative, and the "American Society of Associations Executives Power of Associations Silver Award for Community Support & Engagement" for the AMA 5 Star Safety Certification Program.
Jenica serves on the UMOM New Day Center's Board of Directors and previously Chaired their Young Professional Council's Events Committee. She also serves on the Arizona Society of Association Executives Professional Development Committee. Outside of volunteering she enjoys trying out new restaurants, traveling and being home with her husband and cat.
