2021 Tucson Maintenance Mania

January 13, 2021 | 7:30am-5pm | Tucson Convention Center

Maintenance Mania is a national competition where maintenance technicians compete against each other in skill-based games built around common maintenance activities. The competition includes a pinewood derby style car race where the cars are made out of maintenance supplies.

NAA affiliates host Maintenance Mania events across the country to recognize maintenance technicians with awards, prizes and bragging rights. Winners from each local event get a chance to qualify for a spot at the National Championship.

Registration Information

In order to comply with social distancing requirements, the event will be split into three sessions. Attendees and Competitors will register for a specific session to attend. There is a maximum of 200 attendees per session *no exceptions* so please plan ahead with your team and register early. Lunch will NOT be provided this year and there will be no education seminar.

Maintenance Mania Games

There are seven events that are standard for all Maintenance Mania programs. Each game is open to every Maintenance Mania Competitor with a chance to win prizes for each individual game as well as overall top scores. AMA Housekeeper Challenge

There are three games designed especially for Housekeepers.  Housekeepers can compete for prizes as the winner of each individual game and for the top scores overall.  The 2021 Housekeeper Games include: Outlet Cover Replacement, Refrigerator Drawer Replacement and Trash Bag Replacement.

Wheels are available for pick-up at the following locations:

NW Tucson: Avilla Marana

SW Tucson: Lantana Apartments

SE Tucson: Sunflower Apartments

East Tucson:  Peaks at Reddington

Central:  Fox Point

Sierra Vista: Mountain Steppes

Practice Facility

Due to COVID, the practice facility will not be open for this season.  Practice time will be available during the first 30 minutes of each session.

Awards

Winners will be recognized in the following categories and announced Post Event:

  • First place in each competition
  • Best use of supplies for race car
  • Top 10 overall winners for Maintenance Games
  • Top 5 overall winners for Housekeeper Games
  • Spirit Award

COVID-19 Safety Information/ Changes to Event

AMA follows all city and county health regulations. To ensure the safety of our members, the following precautions will be in place:

  • A larger exhibit hall to allow for social distancing between attendees.
  • A staggered competition schedule to have fewer competitors at a time.
  • Limited spectators per session.
  • Exhibitor tables spaced farther apart.
  • No awards ceremony. Awards will be delivered by sponsors post event.
  • No education seminar. Please view education page for other education opportunities.
  • Frequent sanitizing of all games and touch areas.
  • One way traffic throughout event.
  • Hand sanitizer stations throughout the event.
  • Masks are required and will be provided to anyone who doesn't have one.
  • For more detailed information, please refer to the COVID Notice and Aknowledgement Form.

COVID-19 ALERT: If you have a fever, cough or shortness of breath on the day of the class or event please refrain from attending to prevent the spread of illness as advised by the CDC’s website. Please reach out to us at 602-296-6200 within 48 hours of the scheduled class or event so we may accommodate your needs accordingly. Refunds and invoice cancellations will be permitted on a case by case basis.

AMA Policy: No changes, refunds, or cancellations will be permitted within 10 days of an event for attendee registrations and within 30 days for sponsorships. Dates and prices subject to change. Registration via e-mail constitutes acknowledgment of terms and conditions.

We reserve the right to limit the number of attendee registrations per member per event based on membership status.
