Preparation for your annual budgets will help you understand your property and position yourself to achieve your goals. This class will cover the major components of a budget and break down how each contributes to operating a successful property. Because preparation is often the hardest part of budgeting, we’ll discuss how this critical step can be a game changer for a smooth budget season. We’ll also review common budgeting mistakes and how to avoid them, as well as explore creative ways to make assets more profitable by identifying and analyzing revenue opportunity zones.
This class qualifies for NAA continuing education credits needed for credential renewals.

Jacqueline Musto, CAM

Jacqueline Musto is the Associate Director of Brand & People Excellence at Mark Taylor Residential. She brings 19 years of experience in property management, including 14 years working onsite in community operations. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, a Master of Science in Leadership and Management, a CAM designation, and an NAAEI designation. For the past 6 years, she has specialized in leadership, sales, and operational training, helping teams strengthen business performance and the resident experience.
Ciera Houtz, CALP, CAM
Managing Director, Mark-Taylor
Ciera Houtz is a Managing Director of Multifamily Investments at Mark-Taylor Residential with over a decade of experience in multifamily operations. She specializes in asset stabilization, operational performance, and value-driven repositioning strategies across diverse communities. Ciera has progressed through multiple leadership roles within the organization and is recognized for her expertise in driving financial performance, enhancing resident experience, and leading high-performing teams. She holds a Bachelor of Education from Northern Arizona University and maintains several industry designations, including CAM, NALP, and an Arizona Real Estate License.
