Course Details

Developed by the National Apartment Association Education Institute (NAAEI), the Certified Apartment Manager (CAM)®  course offers the highest standard of professional training for the on-site manager.  Enhance your professional growth in the apartment industry by becoming a (CAM)®  and take your career to the next level.  CAM®  training helps you manage your community and your team more effectively.  The CAM®  Program consists of eight modules plus a comprehensive two-part certification exam.

Marketing, Leasing, and Resident Relations

  • Optimize occupancy rates through comprehensive marketing and leasing strategies.
  • Ensure equitable treatment of current and prospective residents while maintaining a positive company image.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, deliver high-quality customer service, resolve issues promptly, and support resident retention.

Operations and Property Maintenance

  • Conduct regular property inspections and manage preventive maintenance programs.
  • Oversee service request processes, apartment turnover, and coordination with contractors and vendors to maintain property standards.
  • Sales, Staffing, and Team Development

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Enforce policies and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to property management and employment practices.

Financial and Performance Management

  • Analyze property financial operations and implement corrective actions for underperformance.
  • Apply accounting principles and best practices to maximize net operating income.
  • Monitor and accurately report property performance to achieve the owner’s investment goals.

Credential Requirements:

  • Have at least 12 months experience in the apartment industry 
  • Successfully complete all courses
  • Receive a passing grade on the comprehensive online exam
  • Complete all the requirements during the 6-month candidacy period
Instructor:

Kris Wegener

 

Kris has an extensive background in sales and top-notch customer service. With a history of holding executive-level positions in various industries, including single and multifamily real estate, corporate housing, and advertising, she brings a wealth of expertise to the table. Presently, Kris serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Business Observations and instructs CAM and CALP certification programs.

 

Before her current role, Kris spent seven fruitful years in the home-building industry and then made her mark at Mark-Taylor Residential, where she pioneered the role of Director of Sales and Training. Many of her pioneering programs are still integral to the company's success. Kris has played a pivotal role in developing and conducting new hire orientations, as well as fundamental and ongoing sales and customer service workshops and seminars. Her exceptional coaching and training have driven clients to achieve revenue growth, and successful sales outcomes, and fostered cohesive team building company wide.
