Mastering Leadership
March 25 | 10am-11am | ZOOM
As leaders in the apartment industry, we often feel the need to wear a "mask" of perfection for those we oversee. However, true leadership isn't about having all the answers; it’s about being real. This session explores how Authentic Leadership fosters a culture of trust and support, helping reduce turnover and strengthening performance across the entire team.
Learning Objectives:
- Define Authentic Leadership and explain how it differs from traditional perfection-driven leadership models.
- Identify the impact of leader vulnerability and transparency on team trust, engagement, and retention.
-Recognize behaviors that unintentionally create a culture of pressure or fear within teams.
- Apply practical strategies to lead with authenticity while maintaining accountability and performance standards.
- Develop communication techniques that build trust and encourage open dialogue with team members.
-Create an action plan to foster a supportive team culture that reduces turnover and strengthens overall property performance.
This class qualifies for NAA continuing education credits needed for credential renewals.

SPEAKER
Lauren Reece
Quarterpenny, Marketing and Training Director

With more than two decades of experience in the apartment industry, I began my career in 2001 as a Leasing Consultant at a tax credit community. I quickly fell in love with the multifamily housing world and immersed myself in learning every aspect of the business. Driven by curiosity and a passion for growth, I advanced from Leasing Consultant to Assistant Manager, Property Manager, and now serve as Marketing and Training Director for Quarterpenny Management.
Throughout my career, my greatest passion has been connecting with people. Encouraging, developing, and empowering team members to become the best versions of themselves. I believe leadership is about influence, authenticity, and creating opportunities for others to grow and thrive.
I currently hold an Arizona Real Estate Broker’s License and completed the AMA Lyceum Leadership Program in 2022, further strengthening my commitment to professional excellence and servant leadership.
I’ve spent the past 18 years actively involved with AMA, contributing in a variety of meaningful ways. I’ve served on multiple committees and most recently co-chaired the Tucson Events Committee (2023–2025). Throughout the years, I’ve consistently supported AMA’s education programs and events, and I’ve been honored to be nominated for Tributes multiple times, selected as a finalist on several occasions, and recognized as the 2023 Volunteer of the Year Outside the Valley.
Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors enjoying creation, baking for family and friends, and being with my family. I adore animals of all kinds, and am fairly certain, if given the chance, I could domesticate just about any of them that are not yet considered house pets.
